Amazon selling fees are not one number. Build your model from the selling plan, referral fee and any fulfillment/storage or optional-service costs that apply to your operation.
Selling plan fees
Amazon currently lists the Individual plan at $0.99 per item sold and the Professional plan at $39.99 per month, plus applicable selling fees.
Books referral fee
Amazon’s current pricing table lists 15% for the Media category, which includes books. Always verify the current table before buying inventory based on a fee assumption.
Fulfillment and inventory costs
If you use FBA, additional fulfillment and storage fees can apply. Amazon says fee amounts can vary by factors including category, size, weight and inventory age.
Use product-specific estimates
Amazon’s Revenue Calculator is more useful than a generic example because book size, weight, price and fulfillment method can materially change the result.
